Cairo, Egypt – 09-10 November 2025
The VET4Social Impact project successfully delivered the Entrepreneurial Centres of Vocational Excellence (EntreCoVE) Training Programme in Cairo, marking a key milestone in strengthening entrepreneurial capacity within Egypt’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) ecosystem.
The training brought together directors, managers, quality teams, and senior trainers from TVET institutions, with the shared objective of embedding entrepreneurial thinking, innovation, and stakeholder collaboration into institutional practices. The programme was implemented as a blended learning experience, combining two full days of offline, face-to-face training, supported by e-learning modules and followed by a virtual on-the-job application session.
A Structured and Practice-Oriented Training Design
The Egypt training programme covered the four core modules of the Entrepreneurial CoVE framework:
- Entrepreneurial Mindset & Culture
- Strategic Capacity Building in TVET
- Creative and Innovative Thinking
- Stakeholder Mapping & Engagement
Across the two in-person training days, participants engaged in a highly interactive agenda designed to move from mindset transformation to institutional strategy, and from creativity to ecosystem collaboration. Learning activities included case simulations, role plays, group mapping exercises, innovation labs, and peer-to-peer exchanges, all grounded in real TVET challenges.
The training was facilitated by Marwan Abdin and Sawsan Shawky, senior experts with extensive experience in TVET reform and entrepreneurship education. Participants explored the EntreComp framework, assessed their institutions using the CoVE self-assessment tool, and applied change management models such as Kotter’s 8-Step framework to support institutional transformation.
From Learning to Application
A central feature of the Egypt implementation was its strong focus on practical application. Participants worked collaboratively to develop innovation challenge prototypes, map institutional stakeholders, and draft personal and institutional action plans aimed at strengthening sustainability and impact within their organisations.
Following the in-person training, participants were assigned on-the-job field tasks, allowing them to apply the tools and methodologies within their own institutions. These experiences were later shared and discussed during online peer review sessions, fostering reflection, mutual learning, and continuous improvement.
Participants particularly valued the creative thinking tools, stakeholder mapping methodologies, and the practical examples demonstrating how entrepreneurship and leadership can drive institutional change in TVET contexts.
Strengthening the Foundations for Sustainable TVET Reform
The successful implementation of the Entrepreneurial CoVE Training Programme in Egypt highlights the effectiveness of blended, practice-oriented capacity-building approaches in supporting TVET reform. By equipping institutional leaders and trainers with strategic frameworks, innovation tools, and actionable roadmaps, the VET4Social Impact project continues to advance its mission of fostering inclusive growth, social innovation, and sustainable socio-economic development.
Building on the momentum generated through this training, the project will continue to support TVET institutions in translating entrepreneurial vision into concrete, impact-driven practices across Egypt.
